Do you have a child entering Kindergarten for the 2024-25 school year? Spartanburg District Five Schools is excited to welcome these new students to our classrooms!
Kindergarten registration for the 2024-25 school year is now open, and parents and families are encouraged to register now to prepare for the upcoming school year. According to the state of South Carolina, a student must turn five on or before September 1 in order to attend Kindergarten in 2024-25.
All District Five elementary schools are accepting new student registrations Monday-Friday, during normal business hours. Simply visit your zoned school during working hours to register. Don't know what school your child is zoned for? Simply click here to locate your school by entering your address.
Don't forget to bring:
- Proof of residency (a water or power bill, or mortgage/lease agreement is acceptable)
- Vaccination records
- Child's birth certificate
District Five is opening two new elementary schools in the 2024-25 school year. Families who have students attending Berry Shoals Elementary School can register those students at the current Berry Shoals Intermediate School, located at 300 Shoals Road, Duncan SC, 29334. Due to ongoing construction, registration for the brand new Tyger River Elementary School will take place at Middle Tyger Community Center, located at 84 Groce Road, Lyman SC, 29365. You can contact Tyger River Elementary at (864) 949-2060 or email Registrar Candi Israel at candi.israel@spart5.net.
Registration for new 4K students in District Five is also open! According to the state of South Carolina, a student must turn four on or before September 1 in order to attend 4K in 2024-25, Attendance in 4K is limited, and based on academic necessity. Please contact your zoned school for more information.
